Invisalign®

West End Orthodontics is proud to be a leading provider of Invisalign in Wimpole Street, London. For most adults the thought of having to wear braces sends a shiver down the spine. Invisalign®, however, is just as effective as the traditional metal brace whilst being nearly invisible and also removable for when you are eating or brushing. The system is comprises of a set of plastic aligners that gradually straighten your teeth, bypassing much of the discomfort and inconvenience normally associated with orthodontic treatments. Invisalign® are comfortable to wear and socially acceptable, in fact as the name suggests they almost impossible to detect when worn.

Our qualified West End Orthodontics dentists help you to elide if the Invisalign® treatment is an appropriate option for you (following a preliminary examination) a precision impression of your teeth is taken and a proposed schedule of treatment is sent to the company. Invisalign® then uses its advanced 3-D computer technology to produce sets of custom-made aligners that you wear in sequence for about two weeks before changing to the next one in the series.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the treatment quicker than conventional treatment?
Yes. In most cases orthodontic treatment using Invisalign® can be completed considerably quicker

Are all patients suitable?
Some patients may not be suitable for Invisalign® treatment; your West End orthodontist will advise you during your initial appointment

Will I have to wear a retainer?
Yes. We usually advise patients to wear a retainer for about a year following completion of treatment. This helps to ensure the teeth do not drift back into their original position

Will treatment hurt?
Occasionally you may experience a slightly uncomfortable sensation when you change one set of aligners for the next in the series. This feeling disappears, usually after a day or so as your teeth become accustomed to the new aligner
